June's Book Request Forum
Need a book rec? Leave a comment to make a request!
Welcome to June’s Book Request Forum! I’m looking forward to seeing what specific book topics you are in search of~ and I hope I can provide the perfect rec for you!
I receive hundreds of DMs weekly on Instagram requesting specific book recs, and while I try to get to as many as I can, honestly the chances of me getting to yours is low. But via this Monthly Book Request Forum you are guaranteed a response and book rec from me (and hopefully from other community members who may have a rec to share as well!)
While this post and the comment section can be viewed by everyone, for now only paid subscribers will be able to leave a comment to make a book rec request. It’s a small perk of being a paid subscriber that everyone can benefit from.
Other paid subscriber perks:
2 Downloadable Bookish Craft Templates per month (see examples here)
Automatic Entry into Monthly Exclusive Book Bundle Giveaways (Check out last month’s Giveaway, and subscribe to be automatically entered into June’s Upcoming Giveaway )
Bookchat Video Giveaways
Special Interests Book Lists (Check out this Outer Space one! )
Access to this Monthly Book Rec Request Forum
Access to the FULL Archive of Book Lists, Craft Templates, Videos, Request Forums, and Weekly Posts
Bonus content and giveaways
The comment section will stay live through the end of the month. After it’s closed, this post will always be available in the archive to refer back to any titles~ but otherwise, stay tuned for next month’s Book Request Forum. These Request Forums will go live during the second week of each month.
Note: While I will do my best to provide a recommendation for every request, for very specific/ uncommon requests~ unfortunately there isn’t always a book out there yet to meet the need. I will let you know if that is the case~ and perhaps this will be an inspiration to write a book of your own to address this topic!
MaiStoryBook is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
So happy reading and requesting, Friends! I look forward to seeing what pops up in this forum.
Best,
Maya

Hello Mai! I’m on a little mission to try and get a book (kinder - 8th grade) from every country in the world. Any suggestions for Central American books? Ideally the stories are very obviously only able to take place IN that country (not like, a Cinderella story just told with characters in different costumes, you know what I mean?) nonfiction or fiction is fine, English/bilingual/spanish is also fine too! I’m on the hunt and curious as to what you will recommend!
Hi! I am a volunteer librarian. What are your top nonfiction books that every library should have? Our nonfiction section is terrible and I’m looking to replace some of it, if not all of it over the next few years.
